El Taller is delighted to welcome back Quique Sinesi. On September 9th, Sinesi will be joined by John Ehlis, Marty Fogel, Manu Sija, Franco Pinna, and Bernardo Palombo in the highlight performance of the season, if not the year.

Considered one of the most important guitarists in South America, Sinesi has been recognized around the world for his distinctive music combining the Tango and Folklore traditions of his native Argentina, including rhythms like Candombe from Río de la Plata, with elements of jazz improvisation, classical music, and world music on 7 strings, Spanish Guitar, Piccolo, Acoustic, and Charango.

Sinesi's exquisite compositions have been edited in France (Lemoine), Japan (Gendai), Belgium (Ediciones Latinoamericanas), and Argentina (Riccordi). With Matias Gonzalez and Horacio Lopez he founded the trio Alfombra Magica. Sinesi recorded the Concerto for Guitar, Bandoneon, and Orchestra by Astor Piazzolla with the Deutschland Radio Berlin Symphony Orchestra in Germany and has played with talented musicians from Argentina and Europe, including Dino Saluzzi, Pablo Ziegler, with whom he won a Latin Grammy in 2005, Marcelo Miguilevsky, Carlos Aguirre, Juan Falú, Charlie Mariano, and Markus Stockhausen among many others.

Saxophonist Marty Fogel has toured with renowned jazz artists Don Cherry and Gerry Mulligan amongst others. He also spent several years performing and recording in the band of the legendary rock artist Lou Reed. Marty was a cofounder of The Everyman Band, an innovative and internationally acclaimed group which toured in Europe and recorded for ECM Records.

John Ehlis draws inspiration from a vast well of creative minds, as well as in the traditional and folk music from around the world. Ehlis has performed with esteemed artists ranging from saxophonists Oliver Lake and John Tchicai to vocalists Marie Afonso (of Zap Mama) and LOIRE (aka Lori Cotler), Joe Craven (David Grisman Group), frame drum master Glen Velez, classical guitarist Philip Hii, singer/songwriter Scott E.
