Rozanna's Sweet Thunder

Whether performing and creating the music videos Chromatic Fantasy and Sweet Thunder, which were featured at Park City International Film Music Festival, writing music for a spot at the Knitting Factory, playing Bach for Anne Rice, or improvising with Nigel Kennedy and Frank Colon - this unique violist of the 21st century, wins high acclaim:

The San Francisco Examiner ...magisterial...
American Record Guide ...breathtaking virtuosity...
Village Voice ...heart-touching sincerity...unabashedly romantic...soulful...

Rozanna's music was featured at the United Nations and Capital Hill, in the movie, Dancing With Kendra and the Knitting Factory. Her most recent incarnation, Sweet Thunder, merges classical and popular culture seamlessly, redefining the role of the virtuoso. Rozanna just received an ASCAP Plus Award while her music videos have been featured on the Classic Arts Showcase, the TRIO Network, Rhode Island International Film Festival, and Columbus IFF, where it was a prize-winner. One critic exclaimed: a downright sensational violist while her performance at the International Viola Congress was described as ground breaking. This season the violist also premiered a multi-textured work by Judith Shatin at the U. of Virginia.

Rozanna has performed extensively worldwide as soloist and chamber musician in Sweden, Israel, Canada, South Africa, Baltimore, Cleveland, Toronto, San Francisco, Chicago, and Weill Recital Hall. She was selected to represent the US as an Artistic Ambassador by the USIA. Rozanna has recorded for North Pacific, Mode and Albany Records and received her Bachelors degree from Peabody Conservatory of John Hopkins U. and Masters from The Juilliard School. Rozanna has written many articles for Strings Magazine, has given a workshop at the United Nations and is currently a music consultant for the New York Pops.
