Peña del Taller

Peñas are South American musical get-togethers that started during the 60s in Chile and Argentina, then extended to other Latin American countries. There are a lot of musicians at a peña but their main task is to get the audience to sing and participate. To describe it in an inter-generational context, a peña is a combination of hootenanny, coffeehouse and open mike. Food is usually served and there is often folk dancing.

Let's celebrate the holidays together with music, poetry, empanadas!
