Pedro Reñé

Born in Santa Fe, Argentina, Pedro Reñé, singer, guitarist, and composer of songs, presents his album Pinceladas del Sur (Splashes of the South). This album is composed of 11 songs based on the rhythms and colors of South America. Influenced by tango, zamba, candombe, and bosa nova, it is mixed with lyrics that tell their own story, based on authors such as Julio Cortazar and Jorge Luis Borges.

At the concert, Pedro will also play popular oldies to encourage public participation and teach people about Latin American rhythms.

The album Pinceladas del Sur has received an award from the Municipality of Rosario, and Pedro was invited to present it at the Centro Pablo de la Torriente in Havana and in Geneva, Amsterdam, and Buenos Aires.

In June this year, Reñé organized a celebration of the 80 year anniversary of Che Guevara's birth in Rosario, along with prominent local and international musicians. In September 2008 he began a new tour going through cities in Spain and the United States, ending the tour at the "3rd Annual Festival of Latin American Cultural Week", in Manhattan.
