"Un Instante" is a suite composed by Julio Santillan. The work combines his music, based on Argentine rhythms like tango and milonga, with the brilliant poetry of Jorge Luis Borges, one of the most important writers of the Spanish language. It was commissioned by the Secretaría de Cultura de Tucumán, Argentina. 

Its New York premiere features Sofia Tosello (voice) and Julio Santillán (guitar and voice). 

Julio A. Santillán is a New York-based composer and guitarist originally from Tucumán, Argentina. His compositions combine elements from his home land folk music, jazz improvisation and classical music.

Sofia Tosello, a remarkable young singer hailing from Cordoba, Argentina, belongs to an exciting new group of South American artists who, by blending the traditional rhythms of their respective countries with a funky and sophisticated New York sensibility, are challenging the way Latin American song is done.
