Even with the outpouring of support from around the world, getting access to aid remains a hurdle for thousands of Haitian families affected by the recent earthquake in Haiti. The next major step in the relief efforts is to help sustain these families with their most basic daily needs.

Please join us at El Taller on Thursday February 5th at 7pm for for a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Haiti and the Haitian people. Musical performances will be give by Tiga Jean Baptiste, a world renowned Haitian musician, who has performed with numerous musicians, including Wyclef Jean. Film screenings will include Welcome to Batey 6 by Haitian-American director Emmanuel Alexandre depicting the lives of impoverished Haitians working in sugar cane fields in Haiti and Birth of the Sun by director Thomas W. Campbell about the namesake of El Taller's gallery, Grady Alexis, a Haitian immigrant.

All funds collected from this event will go to Lemonaid For Haiti (www.lemonaidforhaiti.com) which is a grassroots effort based out of Brooklyn that helps to support The Caribbean Grace Children's feeding Program in Port au Prince.
