The singer-songwriter from Rosario, Argentina is back in New York with his tour "Una sola America 2017"! Among NYC, he will perform in numerous venues across Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala. With a warm and introspective proposal, he invites us to explore his songs and honor the great Latin American composers.
Ismael will sharing the stage with the special guest - icon of Nueva canción and El Taller founder, Bernardo Palombo.
Artist, singer and songwriter Ismael Torres, being only 30 years old, has already recorded 3 albums, 2 EPs and 1 DVD. He started his professional career when he was 15, playing his guitar and singing along with well-known artists of the so-called “Trova Rosarina”. At the age 18, he released his first solo album “Ciudad Manantial”. Today, after more than 12 years being a musician, he has toured many cities across the world, and shared the stage with artists like León Gieco, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Rubén Rada, Javier Malosetti, Jaime Roos and Lito Nebbia, and others.
In 2008 Ismael started his career in production and worked at Mondomix Studios (Buenos Aires) on numerous record projects such as Manuel Carrasco (España), Dúo Sway (Guatemala), Mano Zeta (Colombia), Reik (Mxieco), Brazilian Girls (USA), Agustín Almeyda, together with Juan Blas Caballero, Cachorro López and Sebastián Schon. The result of this artistic exchange with great producers as well as touring Cuba and Mexico, was his new album “En movimiento” released in April, 2013. By the year 2014, Ismael and his band, have started an extended 3-month tour in Cuba (where they recorded a live album), Mexico, USA, and Canada.
In 2015 Ismael’s third album “Vivo en Cuba” was released by Mexican label Casete. He collaborated with Cuban musicians Augusto Blanca, Leonardo García Rodríguez, Roly Berrío and Dúo Cofradía. “Vivo en Cuba” led Ismael to tour Mexico one more time performing 18 concerts in more than 12 cities. Along with a Ismael's personal and unique warm style of performance, you can note the influence from such artists as Luis A. Spinetta, Fito Paez, Charly García, Sting, John Mayer and Djavan.
