Casa Mantequilla is a New York City based, all-originals band which grew out of Mantequilla house on 109th street back in the early 90's. The writing team of Brendan "Chucho" Malone on guitar and Hawthorne "Hawk" Smith on saxes spans world styles from Mississippi Blues to North African Flamenco and back again. Percussionist Mark "Butta" Righter and bassist Jefferson "Baby" Stonier round out this talented crew of musicians who have performed around the world only to land back on Amsterdam Avenue. The music they make ranges from the sensuous to the sublime, with a delicious and infectious groove at all times. This band will get your hips moving, your fingers popping, wake your mind up and put a smile on your face!
