Rosalia Roio: SuVersiones de Música Tradicional Española

El Taller Latino Americano, The Spanish Consulate of New York City and Spain Foreign Cultural Cooperation are proud to present vocalist/guitarist/songwriter, Rosalía Roio of Spain. In October 2009, BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) presented Rosalía Roio in their program "New Voices from Spain". Her work, rooted in the traditional music of Spain, has been enthusiastically acclaimed as "an alchemy of sounds where the spirit of ancient Spain combines with the language of modern music".

Rosalía's unique guitar technique granted her an invitation to participate in "Guitarras del Mundo", an annual festival in Argentina, where the world's leading guitarists convene. Besides playing guitar and singing, Rosalía makes music with the city using found objects. Bicycle handlebars, kitchen pipes and pizza boxes become flutes, whistles and percussion instruments in the hands of Rosalía Roio. This concert is a unique opportunity to experience Rosalía's performance in the intimate El Taller setting, "como en su casa".
