Mala Intenciones (Bad Intentions)

A Peruvian film that was written and directed by Rosario Garcia-Montero, Mala Intenciones, The Bad Intentions, is an offbeat drama that is full of heart and humor and tells the story of Cayetana, an eight year old girl Peruvian girl with a vivid imagination who convinces herself that the day her brother is born is the day she needs to die. 

Las Malas Inteciones had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, its US premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival and in New York premiere at the MoMA. It received "Best Latin American Film"_ at the Mar del Plata Film Festival and "Best Peruvian Film"_ at the Lima Film Festival. Other festivals it has screened at include Guadalajara Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Havana Film Festival, Stockholm Film Festival, Milan Film Festival and Rio Film Festival.
