35 Years Taller Presents: The Dao of New York, Hosted by Eric Darton

El Taller Latino Americano is proud to present The Dao of New York, hosted by Eric Darton, as part of our 35th Anniversary celebration - 35 Years Taller. Do great cities have a "Dao" -- a way, a method or a rule of life that allows them to support and nourish the lives of their inhabitants? And if so, what is the Dao of New York? Eric Darton, an author and cultural historian, will explore that and other topics and discuss how to use a Daoist perspective in order to survive and thrive as a writer, performer and artist in New York City.

Come prepared to experience something real and mysterious shift within your sense of yourself and your city.

Eric Darton is a native New Yorker and cultural historian whose books include Divided We Stand: A Biography of New York's World Trade Center (Basic Books, 1999, 2011), and Free City, a novel, (WW Norton, 1996). The final two books of his five-volume cultural memoir Notes of a New York Son, 1995-2007 were published in November, 2013. He teaches at several colleges including the Harry Van Arsdale Center for Labor Studies and is a (happily) perennial student at El Taller.
