El Taller Latino Americano is proud to welcome Ernesto Villalobos and Friends as part of 35 Years Taller as they present. After an impactful and impressive grassroots mobilization at the 4th annual North American Ecosocialist convergence in Pittsburgh, PA in late April that launched its "Mosaic" garden project and featured scientists, artists and activists from Canada, Italy, Mexico, and all over the United States, Ecosocialist Horizons is hosting a concert celebrating this groundbreaking cross regional solidarity and eco-centric community building at El Taller.
Artists will include the renowned Ernesto Villalobos (violin) and Ben Barson (baritone sax), who will also be celebrating birthdays, in a cross-pollinating revolutionary ensemble with influences from hip-hop, merengue, jazz, Mexican folk music, opera, and more. Amir Rashad, acclaimed artist and African American community organizer who has built and maintained urban gardens on three different continents and 10 countries, will be representing Pittsburgh's Mosaic project. The 8-piece folk and bluegrass band "The Hills and Rivers" will also be coming from the Three Rivers to celebrate the new alliances forged between communities of every stripe around a shared vision of self-sufficient, eco-centric production of food and basic needs.
