This event will mark the release of Dr. Paul Austerlitz’s trilogy of Round Whirled Records albums entitled Magic Triplets for Bass Clarinet: Merengue/Vodou/Jazz. Featuring the Afro-Dominican drummer, singer, and José Duluc as well as master Haitian percussionist Franck Desire, the trilogy points to an ideal space where music serves as a unifying force on the island shared by Dominican Republic and Haiti.  The concert will be followed by a panel discussion reflecting on ways to foster cultural understanding between the two countries.
