Grupo los Santos is a NYC-based quartet of guitar, bass, drums and tap! A funky, rootsy, weirdly eclectic jam-band which pulls equally from the traditions of jazz, rock, funk, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Brazilian, and whatever else they come across.
Formed in 1998, Santos currently consist of electric guitar, electric bass, drums, and tap dance/body percussion, often augmented with Afro-Cuban batá drums.
They are currently releasing their fourth album, Santos 4.

Founder’s note:
Grupo Los Santos began performing at El Taller in the late 1990’s. Every Wednesday the sounds of this group pervaded the air of our, then, Broadway location. Los Noches en el Taller was their first album, and as the name suggests, it was an homage to their musical home at the time.
We were glad that they could be a part of this “en el techo” series. For one reason, because it shows how El Taller is always a musical home that people come back to. And for another, because bringing Los Santos to the roof seems a fitting place for this music - a music that needs to expand is even better in the “cielo” with no walls where, supposedly, the saints live.
