El Taller Latino Americano is proud to host Juan Valencia, for an evening of Latin American Piano and Song. From tangos to waltzes to rumbas to joropos to cumbias, Juan and his supporting band members will traverse the sonic geography of the Americas in a single evening. 

A native of Medellin, Colombia, Juan started his piano studies at young age in special program for children at Bellas Artes y La Universidad de Antioquia . During his youth years he continued his musical training with the Russian concert artist Eva D'Hermann in Venezuela. He studied organ with the German organist Judy Krautzer for a period of 5 years. Juan studied at the Ohio State University, School of Music with a full scholarship, He studied with Sylvia Zeremba and Earl Wild.
