Cecilia Zabala: El Color del Silencio

Argentine composer, guitarist, and vocalist Cecilia Zabala will present her new album, El color del silencio, in a special concert at El Taller Latino Americano.

El color del silencio is an essentially instrumental work, recorded with 7-string Spanish guitar, requinto, acoustic guitar, caja chayera, and voice. The album features original guitar music with Argentinean and Latin American folklore colors. The voice intervenes as an instrument, although there are five songs hidden within a list of fourteen songs.

Zabala writes: "El color del silencio is a very special album for me. It is the result of a period of looking inwardly in solitude and introspection, in a space where the sound of breathing is present, where time can run differently in front of the movements of the outside world. It is a stripped, transparent, raw material. The reunion with the love of guitar and music that 20 years ago invited me to follow this path. The joy of continuing to weave dialogues between my voice and my guitar, between the music that is hidden in the words and their meaning. The proof that art is the best trench 'against all the evils of this world' and that it is worth continuing to seek beauty despite the difficult times. I am happy with this new project, full of dreams like when I started to find a way in music; I walk slowly, steadily, step by step, accompanied by the lightness of the present, the music that heals the souls and the silence that tastes light."
