Mark Cobrin: Symptoms

The Grady Alexis Gallery at El Taller Latino Americano is pleased to present "Symptoms: Works by Mark Cobrin," an exhibition of prints and small works by visual artist/sound engineer Mark Cobrin. 

Symptoms: Works by Mark Cobrin, expresses the relationship between artist and technology by capturing the emotional quality of this connection from the ephemeral to the physical. The passage of time is observed in the depiction of obsolete technologies - this unextraordinary fact reveals an underlying nostalgia. 

Mark Cobrin is an American artist, musician recording and sound engineer. He works in the grey areas between photography and printmaking, utilizing the computer to realize his end, which is to show the essence of an object in a somewhat deteriorated way. Many of his images are derived from mechanical or electrical objects.
